This is simply cool. Nick Gonzales from Techcrunch is reporting about a new feature for Second Life that will incorporate speech between users.
What's making this really cool is the fact that voices will be altered to mimic real life factors like distance and direction, creating a much more realistic feel than the simple voice chat we know from things like XBOX Live.
If the quality of sound will be good, this could turn out to be a major hit across all kinds of social networks, chat rooms and online games.
