When Europe went into the Euro era, a lot of vendors tried to trick people. If they sold product X at 20 French franks, they simply started to charge 20 euro for it although 20 euro actually worth 80 French franks.
This is one of the reasons Europe became so expensive (Yes. Even before the dollar went down).
Now that I moved to the US I'm facing the same problem.
When I was coming here for a visit, I used to remind myself that one dollar is worth about 4 NIS (Israel currency). But now when I'm here every day, my mind is going back to what is used to see. I buy stuff at 10 dollars feeling like I paid 10 NIS (although I actually paid 40).
It doesn't help how much time I tell myself that, my mind is used to say that something that cost 10 X is cheap.
