Today Mozilla Labs released an early prototype of a new tool code name "Ubiquity".
Although in an early state, Ubiquity is already an impressive demonstration of the power of mashups, microformats and the semantic web.
It's an addon to FireFox that allows you to create cool mashups and use services with natural language commands.
Some cool examples are:
- You can select any text on the web, write "translate" and immediately get the translation.
- You can select multiple entries in Craigslist, write "map these" and see a representation of the entries on a Google Map.
- You can select any text, werite mail to John and Ubiquity will automatically compose an email message to John and put the text in it (Requires Gmail account).
I encourage you to install Ubiquity and start play with it. It's definetly a lot of fun. You can learn about the commands it supports here.
